Marburg virus (MARV) is an RNA virus of the family Phyllovirus, an epidemic hemorrhagic fever virus. It is prevalent in East and South Africa and has an incubation period of 5 to 10 days.

It is infected when biological tissue, skin, or mucous membranes come into contact with an infected monkey or human blood. It can also be infected by inhalation of aerosol.

Symptoms such as headache, sore throat, muscle pain, chest pain, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, jaundice, bruises, and bleeding appear. There are auxiliary treatments such as hydration, blood replacement, and shock treatment, and the fatality rate is about 25%.

DIOGIN Co., Ltd. has developed a Marburg virus rapid diagnosis RT-LAMP kit that can quickly diagnose the Marburg virus in 30 minutes.
